Big 12 recruiting scorecard: The latest heading into signing day

Here's what's new on the Big 12 recruiting trail as we close in on signing day:

BAYLOR

Total commits: 21

ESPN 300 commits: 8

The latest: The Bears landed a pledge from junior college All-American DeQuinton Osborne, ESPN's No. 10 rated juco DT, over the weekend and hosted two more top targets on crucial official visits: ESPN 300 S Brandon Jones and local stud CB Parrish Cobb, a three-star who's contemplating a flip from Oklahoma.

IOWA STATE

Total commits: 23

ESPN 300 commits: 0

The latest: Matt Campbell and his staff pulled off another nice recruiting win on Friday when three-star TE Chase Allen picked the Cyclones. He turned down Nebraska and was also being recruited by Michigan. Iowa State also brought in former Georgia QB Jacob Park for an official visit this weekend. Park was ESPN's No. 8 rated QB recruit in the Class of 2014.

KANSAS

Total commits: 15

ESPN 300 commits: 0

The latest: Kansas addressed its need at defensive end with a Sunday night pledge from Houston DE Isaiah Bean and added another pass-catcher to the class in three-star WR Evan Fairs. The Jayhawks are getting ahead on 2017, too, with new early commitments from offensive tackles Grant Polley and Jared Hocker. All three of KU's 2017 commits hail from Texas.

KANSAS STATE

Total commits: 15

ESPN 300 commits: 0

The latest: The Wildcats had a productive week and are piecing together another nice group of grayshirts and walk-ons. Juco OT Breontae Matthews finally committed, as did juco DT Raymon Price and CB A.J. Parker. Kaelin Key and Ian Rudzik are among the newest grayshirt pledges that will join the program in 2017.

OKLAHOMA

Total commits: 18

ESPN 300 commits: 4

The latest: After a big recruiting weekend, the Sooners are in great shape heading into the final week. Oklahoma added four-star OT Erik Swenson, the former Michigan commit, flipped three-star WR Zach Farrar from Mississippi State, nabbed ESPN Junior 300 OT Tyrese Robinson, offered former Alabama commit Riley Cole and hosted a quality junior day.

OKLAHOMA STATE

Total commits: 18

ESPN 300 commits: 0

The latest: The Pokes will be waiting on final decisions this week from a few important pieces for this class. Three-star DE commit Jonathan Marshall took an official visit to Arkansas this weekend. Juco OT Shane Richards is deciding between OSU, Louisville and Illinois. And, of course, there's still ESPN 300 OT Tramonda Moore and QB target Keondre Wudtee.

TCU

Total commits: 23

ESPN 300 commits: 5

The latest: TCU got a pledge from three-star OT Lucas Niang last week but still has some key offensive targets left on the board, led by the ESPN 300 trio of Tyrie Cleveland, Kyle Porter and Audie Omotosho. Cleveland took an official visit to Florida this weekend and has a tough decision ahead. One pledge TCU might lose: OLB/DE Sci Martin visited LSU over the weekend.

TEXAS

Total commits: 15

ESPN 300 commits: 5

The latest: The Longhorns are rolling into this huge week with two new commitments (ESPN 300 CB Eric Cuffee and three-star ATH Lil'Jordan Humphrey) and a long list of targets. Charlie Strong did his final in-home visits with LSU commit Erick Fowler and ex-Michigan commit Jordan Elliott and hosted ESPN 300 LB Dontavious Jackson on campus one more time.

TEXAS TECH

Total commits: 27

ESPN 300 commits: 0

The latest: This should be a drama-free week for Texas Tech and a class that is both full and full of longtime commitments. The Red Raiders did add one more take on Sunday when three-star WR Douglas Coleman flipped from Tulane. He's expected to play defensive back in college.

WEST VIRGINIA

Total commits: 26

ESPN 300 commits: 1

The latest: This one didn't get much publicity, but the Mountaineers got a huge commitment over the weekend from RB Justin Crawford. He earned NJCAA Offensive Player of the Year honors at Northwest C.C. this season after rushing for 1,610 yards and 16 TDs and leading his team to a national title. WVU also picked up a pledge from juco OT Craig Smith.
