National signing day is almost here, a de facto national holiday for college football fans everywhere. To get you ready, below is a breakdown of the most exciting part of each Big 12 recruiting class going into the big day:
Baylor
What to get excited about: Blue-chip flips
The players: WR R.J. Sneed, WR Trestan Ebner, C Xavier Newman
The skinny: New coach Matt Rhule and his staff have hit the ground running on the recruiting trail, basically filling out an entire class in just one month. The headliners are a trio of ESPN 300 flips in Sneed (previously committed to Ole Miss), Ebner (TCU) and Newman (Colorado).
Iowa State
What to get excited about: Wingmen for Allen Lazard
The players: WR Matthew Eaton, WR Joshua Johnson
The skinny: Lazard became just the fourth player in Iowa State history to surpass 1,000 yards receiving. The Cyclones have bolstered the corps around him with this class with Eaton, the nation's No. 4 junior college receiver, and Johnson, a four-star burner out of Arkansas who spurned Notre Dame for Ames, Iowa.
Kansas
What to get excited about: Impact juco QB
The player: QB Peyton Bender
The skinny: The Jayhawks had success late in the year with Carter Stanley behind center last season. But Bender has the potential to take the Kansas to another level offensively. The country's No. 3 juco QB and former Washington State QB, Bender could team with new offensive coordinator Doug Meacham to provide the Jayhawks with a major jolt.
Kansas State
What to get excited about: Pass-rush help
The players: DE Xavier Davis, DE Anthony Payne, DE Wyatt Hubert
The skinny: The Wildcats lost a pair of outstanding perimeter defenders in Big Defensive Player of the Year Jordan Willis and All-Big 12 outside linebacker Elijah Lee. But in Davis, Payne and Hubert -- currently the highest rated players in K-State's class -- the Wildcats have pass-rush options for next season and beyond.
Oklahoma
What to get excited about: Playmaking running backs
The players: RB Trey Sermon, RB Marcelias Sutton, RB Kennedy Brooks
The skinny: The Sooners lost a ton of production when Samaje Perine and Joe Mixon bolted early for the NFL. But they do have one of the nation's top running back classes on the way in a trio of four-star backs. Sermon, the headliner, is a Georgia native who had every SEC power after him.
Oklahoma State
What to get excited about: Sidekicks for Justice Hill
The players: RB Chuba Hubbard, RB J.D. King
The skinny: Three of Oklahoma State's top four running backs graduated. But in Hubbard and King, the Cowboys have a pair of incoming backs to flank Hill, the reigning Big 12 Offensive Freshman of the Year. Hubbard is the No. 1 prospect out of Canada, while King led the state of Georgia in rushing as a junior.
TCU
What to get excited about: Potential franchise QB
The player: QB Shawn Robinson
The skinny: Having held offers from blue-bloods like Alabama, Ohio State, Texas and USC, Robinson was one of the top dual-threat QB recruits in the country. Whether he pushes incumbent Kenny Hill immediately or he redshirts, Robinson has the talent to be a future star.
Texas
What to get excited about: Potential franchise QB
The player: Sam Ehlinger
The skinny: Shane Buechele won Texas' starting QB job last season as a true freshman. But with a new coaching staff, he will face serious competition from Ehlinger, a hometown product and the nation's No. 123 overall prospect.
Texas Tech
What to get excited about: Elite interior blocker
The player: OG Jack Anderson
The skinny: Tech has added a major piece to its offensive line in Anderson, the nation's No. 52 overall prospect and its fourth highest-ranked guard. Anderson is already on campus and could bolster an offensive line that struggled across the board in 2016.
West Virginia
What to get excited about: Arrival of familiar names
The players: OT Kelby Wickline, WR David Sills
The skinny: Wickline is the son of West Virginia offensive line coach Joe Wickline. Sills was in West Virginia's rotation at receiver two seasons ago before leaving to give QB another shot in juco. Both players figure to help the Mountaineers offensively next season.
