Oklahoma All-America safety Quinton Carter has been named the winner of the Wooden Award, considered the Heisman Trophy of community involvement and citizenship.

The award is open to athletes of all sports, however.

The Las Vegas native created his own foundation, SOUL (Serving Others through Unity and Leadership), runs a free youth football camp in Las Vegas and spends time with a daycare class in Norman as well. His foundation mentors local teens and provides veterans with meals and gifts.

Carter was also named to the AllState AFCA Good Works Team made up of 11 college football players who are recognized for achievements in community service.

Carter ranked third on the team with 96 tackles and made four interceptions as a senior. He's working out in Mobile, Ala., this week in preparation for Saturday's Senior Bowl.
