Ranking the Big 12's best players: No. 17

The official list of the Big 12's top 25 players is locked away in a vault in an undisclosed location, but we're revealing the list day by day here on the blog. Here's a refresher on my exact criteria.

No. 17: Jeff Fuller, WR, Texas A&M

2010 numbers: Fuller caught 72 passes for 1,066 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Most recent ranking: Fuller was ranked No. 20 in our preseason list of the Big 12's top 25 players.

Making the case for Fuller: He was on track for a big year in 2009 before a broken leg sidelined him for almost half the season, but Fuller rebounded in 2010 for the year most expected him to have. He had the first 1,000-yard receiving season in Texas A&M history and staked a solid claim as the Big 12's third-best receiver. Considering the first two were finalists for the Biletnikoff Award, that's a pretty good spot to be. He's most valuable in the red zone as a target for jump balls. The 6-foot-4, 215-pounder is extremely adept at using his size over defensive backs who are smaller than him, which is to say, all of them.
