Rhoads' team knocked off Iowa 44-41 in three overtimes.

The fans rushed the field. Where's the first place the players went? Sprinting to the opposite side of the field to grab the new Cy-Hawk Trophy, which quickly lost its top and was left only with the base.

The trophy may be interim, but the memories will last forever. (Sorry.)

Steele Jantz led the team back and made plays down the stretch, including a touchdown pass to tie the game in the fourth quarter and another on fourth down in the first overtime to extend the game.

James White took a run up the right side four yards for the game-winning touchdown.

A huge win for the Cyclones, who move to 2-0 with a trip to Connecticut looming next week.

Jantz may have blossomed into a star on Saturday, finishing with 279 yards and four touchdowns on 25-of-37 passing.

Saturday was Iowa State's first win in the in-state rivalry game since 2007 and just the third since 2002.

If you thought Iowa State fans couldn't love Rhoads any more, you thought wrong. The same is true of the respect Rhoads will draw as a coach regionally, and after today, perhaps nationally.
