Hey, points are all that matters, right?

OSU's defense has heard plenty of criticism all season, and on Baylor's opening drive, the unit that ranked near the bottom fourth in the FBS in total defense looked like they deserved it.

The Bears reached Oklahoma State's 5-yard line, but five consecutive runs from Terrance Ganaway couldn't get the Bears into the end zone.

OSU marched 99 yards in 14 plays and scored, and forced a fumble on the ensuing kickoff, scoring again. A 62-yard run by Joseph Randle made it 21-0 late in the first quarter.

This OSU defense is not outstanding, but it's gotten a bad rap this year. It's better than people think. The numbers do lie in this case.

Today, the defense has pressured Robert Griffin III constantly and broken up three passes. RG3's been sacked once and run for a loss on two of his three carries. That's exactly what you have to do to slow the Bears.

This defense makes plays when necessary, and it's made a ton of them already today. Goal-line stands are huge for momentum, and the Cowboys lead the nation in turnover margin, at plus-15.

Is that sustainable? We'll find out.

We've already seen how the Cowboys have gotten there, and yardage aside, this defense is doing what counts.
