STILLWATER, Okla. -- Two top-15 teams with a combined one loss has the air of a big game.
Kansas State fans responded accordingly. I got caught in the unofficial headquarters for Kansas State fans earlier today, but on he way to the stadium, there was plenty of purple. I won't hedge a guess as to how many Wildcats fans made the four-hour trip to Stillwater, but we should have a great atmosphere for a big game.
One of those fans is K-State superfan Robert Lipson, who made his way to downtown Stillwater earlier today.
He's been to 150 consecutive conference road games, complete with a commemorative sweatshirt for today's occasion. His streak dates all the way back to 1973.
This is my third game in Stillwater and I'm seeing a lot more opposing fans than I did for earlier visits -- a Thursday nighter against Arizona and last week's win over Baylor.
Both teams have arrived at a windy Boone Pickens Stadium, and the gates just opened for fans as the student section fills up.
Two good teams, two contrasting styles.
Tonight will be a fun one ... at least for one group of fans in the stadium.
