Despite his optimism at the start of fall camp on Wednesday afternoon, it doesn't appear Les Miles will get his hands on 2012 wide receiver signee Avery Johnson (Pompano Beach, Fla./Ely Blanche) this season.

Johnson confirmed Saturday afternoon that he won't be enrolling at LSU this season, as the SAT score he was waiting to receive didn't qualify. Instead Johnson must go back to the drawing board and attain a qualifying score this coming semester. Johnson said the plan for the time being is to enroll at Hargrave Military Academy, where he can play football, and join LSU's roster in January after he qualifies.

If that is indeed the plan, Johnson will be in good company with other LSU success stories. Former running back Keiland Williams attended Hargrave, as did current defensive tackle Ego Ferguson.

Football sells out for 2012: LSU announced Saturday it sold out of season tickets for the 2012 season. The athletic department sold 68,772 season tickets for the 2012 season -- the same number of season tickets sold in 2011. This marks the ninth consecutive year that season tickets have sold out for LSU football. The sellout streak dates back to the 2004 season, the year after the Tigers won the 2003 BCS Championship.

Practice continues: Reports for Saturday's pair of practices are posted on the message board. The Tigers' morning session was highlighted by some more acrobatics from receiver Jarvis Landry, as well as some surprising receiver work from the varsity running backs. The afternoon's freshman practice was a less impressive affair. Receiver Paul Turner missed out on the afternoon session after ceding his morning spot to freshman Travin Dural. New quarterback Rob Bolden also looked slightly shaky in passing drills. He couldn't seem to get his timing down and was plagued by overthrows.
