ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Michigan coach Brady Hoke almost didn't offer a scholarship to 2012 linebacker commit Kaleb Ringer when Ringer was on his official visit last spring.
Ringer's father, Kevin, and Hoke, who are both from Dayton, Ohio, mixed in memories of mutual friends and childhood stories with football talk while the Ringers were visiting the head coach's office.
"He got so wrapped up reminiscing and talking with my dad and me that he totally forgot to offer me," Ringer said. "So we're leaving his office to go to the academic center, and he runs out of his office and yells, 'Kaleb, Kaleb, I meant to offer you!'
