WildTurtle rejoins Team SoloMid after Immortals stint

Jason "WildTurtle" Tran first made waves in the League of Legends scene when he replaced Shan "Chaox" Huang on Team SoloMid. After some time with Immortals, he's back on TSM. Provided by Riot Games

Former Immortals AD carry Jason "WildTurtle" Tran is rejoining former organization Team SoloMid for the 2017 season, TSM announced.

The move comes after WildTurtle, who competed with Team SoloMid for two years, played as a substitute for the team at Intel Extreme Masters Oakland on Nov. 19-20. At Oakland, the team took third-fourth after a semifinal loss to Unicorns of Love.

He will fill the spot left vacant by Yiliang "Doublelift" Peng, who will be taking a break during the spring for the first time in his five-year career.

Prior to rejoining Team SoloMid, WildTurtle explored his options following his departure from Immortals in October. Earlier in November, WildTurtle was negotiating with Team Dignitas for its AD carry position but ultimately dropped negotiations around the same time that Team SoloMid discontinued its AD carry search.

WildTurtle initially joined Team SoloMid in 2013 and competed at the League of Legends World Championship with the team in 2013, 2014 and 2015. He then moved to Immortals after Team SoloMid acquired rival Doublelift from Counter Logic Gaming. His spot on Immortals has been occupied by former Dream Team AD carry Cody "Massacre" Sun, as reported by ESPN.

Team SoloMid did not respond to a request for comment.
