The Shanghai Dragons completed their 2020 roster with the additions of Ji-won "Stand1" Seo, Jun-woo "Void" Kang, Jae-gon "LeeJaeGon" Lee and Jae-won "LIP" Lee.
The most notable of the four is LeeJaeGon, who joins the Dragons from RunAway of Overwatch Contenders Korea. RunAway rebuilt their roster after having their entire roster picked up by the OWL expansion Vancouver Titans, who went on to finish second in Season 2.
LeeJaeGon was instrumental in the new RunAway roster going on to finish first in Contenders Korea last season. The 18-year-old also helped RunAway finish second at the NetEase Esports X Tournament - 2019 - Autumn Major earlier this month.
Void, an off-tank player, is the only one of the group with previous Overwatch League experience, having played for the Los Angeles Gladiators. He also played for KongDoo Panthera, one of the top Overwatch Contenders Korea organizations that has sent several players to the Dragons.
Stand1 is a main tank who comes over from the Gladiators Legion, L.A.'s North American Contenders academy team. He has also played for NRG Esports and Team Envy.
"There are no words to express how happy I am to be joining OWL and the Shanghai Dragons," Stand1 tweeted. "I will do my best to show great results. Thank you for your support and warm wishes."
LIP is a hitscan DPS specialist from BlossoM of Contenders Korea who just became age-eligible for the OWL on his 18th birthday on Nov. 5.
The Dragons have parted with three players since the end of Season 2: flex tank Youngjin "YOUNGJIN" Jin, tank Youngjin "Gamsu" Noh and Kyungwoo "CoMa" Son.
Shanghai added former Seoul Dynasty star DPS Byungsun "Fleta" Kim earlier this month.
Meanwhile, the London Spitfire announced their roster Monday for the 2020 Overwatch League season, revealing the seven players who will join lone holdover Yung-hoon "Krillin" Jung, a backup support player.
The new additions are: DPS players Gil-seong "Glister" Lim and Dong-jae "Schwi" Lee; , tank players Se-won "BERNAR" Shin and Dae-Han "JMAC" Choi; and support players Tae-hoon "Fuze" Kim, Sung-hyeok "Highly" Lee and Kyu-min "SanGuiNar" Lim.
The Spitfire won the Overwatch League's first season, and while they returned in 2019 with primarily the same roster, the Spitfire didn't enjoy the same success.
In the offseason, they released or traded the starting squad.
