Manor will skip the two days of testing at the Red Bull Ring this week due to the cost implications, team boss Graeme Lowdon has confirmed.
Manor is still playing catch-up this season after its late rescue deal on the eve of the Australian Grand Prix. It is still running a 2014-spec car and Ferrari engine and sat out the two-day in-season test in Barcelona in May.
Team boss Lowdon confirmed the team has nothing to gain from staying in Austria for the tests on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Asked by Sky Sports whether it was down to cost, Lowdon replied: "Yeah, it's just wrong test at the wrong time and in the wrong place for us. We're better focused just on some other things."
Despite sitting out the Austria test, Manor hopes to introduce new parts for its home race at Silverstone.
"We've got to keep developing, as you know. I think there's quite a few bits for Silverstone, you've always got to keep pushing."
