Updates/analysis (most recent first)
7:44 p.m. ET -- Brandon Jackson inactive -- The Packers' official Web site reports that Brandon Jackson (questionable, ankle) is inactive. He was unlikely to see many touches as the team's No. 2 running back anyway.
7:44 p.m. ET -- Nick Barnett active -- The Packers' official Web site reports that Nick Barnett (probable, knee) is active.
7:39 p.m. ET -- Charles Tillman active -- The Bears' official Web site reports that Charles Tillman (questionable, back) is active and will start at cornerback.
3:17 p.m. ET -- Samkon Gado active -- The Rams' official Web site reports that Samkon Gado (questionable, ribs) is active. He'll serve as depth for the team at running back, but isn't a fantasy consideration.
3:17 p.m. ET -- Marc Bulger active -- The Rams' official Web site reports that Marc Bulger (probable, finger) is active and will start. Fantasy owners who weren't fortunate enough to draft someone better can feel free to roll the dice with him.
3:15 p.m. ET -- Walter Jones inactive -- The Seahawks' official Web site reports that Walter Jones (out, knee) is inactive. This was expected, but it does mean Matt Hasselbeck will be at a bit more risk than usual for hits from his blind side.
3:12 p.m. ET -- Deion Branch inactive -- The Seahawks' official Web site reports that Deion Branch (questionable, hamstring) is inactive, as expected. Nate Burleson will start as the Seahawks' No. 2 wide receiver, and Deon Butler will slide into the No. 3 role, for those in uber-deep leagues.
3:10 p.m. ET -- Michael Lewis active -- The 49ers' official Web site reports that Michael Lewis (probable, concussion) is active.
3:05 p.m. ET -- Steve Breaston inactive -- The Cardinals' official Web site reports that Steve Breaston (probable, knee) is surprisingly inactive.
3:05 p.m. ET -- Anquan Boldin active -- The Cardinals' official Web site reports that Anquan Boldin (questionable, hamstring) is active, though he is not 100 percent healthy. He will dress, and it's likely that he will see enough targets to be a worthwhile fantasy play, especially in light of Steve Breaston's (probable, knee) status -- he's surprisingly inactive. Don't be shocked if Jerheme Urban gets a fair amount of work.
3:01 p.m. ET -- Giants inactives -- No significant inactives for the Giants in Week 1, outside of CB Aaron Ross and Ramses Barden, reports the Newark Star-Ledger. Neither should reside on many fantasy teams, except deep dynasty formats with Barden.
12:20 p.m. ET -- Jerious Norwood active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that Jerious Norwood (probable, knee) is active. He'll serve as Michael Turner's backup, meaning he'll have limited fantasy appeal.
12:19 p.m. ET -- John Abraham active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that John Abraham (probable, knee) is active.
12:19 p.m. ET -- Matt Ryan active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that Matt Ryan (probable, illness) is active, as expected. No worries about Ryan's illness; he's a must-start.
12:18 p.m. ET -- Kellen Clemens active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that Kellen Clemens (probable, elbow) is active. He'll serve as the Jets' No. 2 quarterback.
12:17 p.m. ET -- Dustin Keller active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that Dustin Keller (probable, toe) is active. He's well worth activating in all fantasy leagues.
12:16 p.m. ET -- Shonn Greene inactive -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that Shonn Greene (probable, ribs) is inactive. So much for him immediately getting involved in a running back rotation. Thomas Jones and Leon Washington will both benefit from Greene's absence.
12:14 p.m. ET -- Jason Hanson active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that Jason Hanson (probable, knee) is active. He'll start, but you can do better at kicker.
12:13 p.m. ET -- Dennis Northcutt active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that Dennis Northcutt (probable, hand) is active. He'll start, and if you're in a deeeeeep league, he might be a hail-mary option in a game in which the Lions presumably will fall behind early.
12:12 p.m. ET -- Shaun Rogers active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that Shaun Rogers (questionable, foot) is active.
12:11 p.m. ET -- Steve Heiden active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that Steve Heiden (probable, knee) is active. But fantasy owners probably can do better than a Browns tight end.
12:10 p.m. ET -- James Davis active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that James Davis (questionable, head) is active. Davis might not get enough carries to be a fantasy factor in Week 1, but with the good news that he's active, he's well worth keeping an eye on as a sleeper for future weeks.
12:10 p.m. ET -- Jerome Harrison inactive -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that Jerome Harrison (questionable, knee) is inactive. He was a backup running back for the Browns, though, and wasn't a fantasy option in Week 1.
12:09 p.m. ET -- Haloti Ngata active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that Haloti Ngata (probable, ankle) is active.
12:08 p.m. ET -- L.J. Smith inactive -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that L.J. Smith (questionable, hamstring) is inactive.
12:07 p.m. ET -- Mark Clayton active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that Mark Clayton (questionable, hamstring) is active. He's a shaky fantasy option, however, despite the favorable matchup on paper.
12:06 p.m. ET -- Maurice Jones-Drew active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that Maurice Jones-Drew (probable, shin) is active. This was expected; Jones-Drew was removed from the injury report earlier this weekend and is a must-start in all fantasy formats.
12:05 p.m. ET -- Bob Sanders inactive -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that Bob Sanders (out, knee) is inactive, as expected.
12:04 p.m. ET -- Miles Austin active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that Miles Austin (probable, hamstring) is active. He's not in the starting lineup, however, so try to find a more productive option for Week 1.
12:04 p.m. ET -- Roy E. Williams active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that Roy E. Williams (probable, shoulder) is active. He's a fine No. 2 fantasy option.
12:03 p.m. ET -- Michael Clayton active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that Michael Clayton (probable, hamstring) is active. He's not an attractive fantasy option despite his starter's status.
12:02 p.m. ET -- Antonio Bryant active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that Antonio Bryant (probable, knee) is active. He'll start and isn't a bad No. 3 fantasy wide receiver, but owners shouldn't classify him as a top option.
12:01 p.m. ET -- Anquan Boldin iffy? -- ESPN's Stephania Bell is skeptical that Anquan Boldin (questionable, hamstring) will play in Week 1, noting that the receiver has not practiced since Aug. 25.
12:00 p.m. ET -- Tarvaris Jackson No. 2 QB -- The Vikings' official Web site reports that Tarvaris Jackson will serve as the Vikings' No. 2 quarterback, as Sage Rosenfels is inactive.
11:59 a.m. ET -- Chris Simms active -- The Broncos' official Web site reports that Chris Simms (questionable, ankle) is active. He'll be the No. 2 quarterback and will be needed only should Kyle Orton get hurt.
11:58 a.m. ET -- Jabar Gaffney active -- The Broncos' official Web site reports that Jabar Gaffney (questionable, thumb) is active. He'll be the No. 3 wide receiver, as Brandon Marshall is active and expected to start.
11:57 a.m. ET -- Kyle Orton active -- The Broncos' official Web site confirms that Kyle Orton (questionable, finger) is active, and notes that he was seen warming up. It's presumed he'll start.
11:56 a.m. ET -- Knowshon Moreno active -- The Broncos' official Web site reports that Knowshon Moreno (questionable, knee) is active. It's unclear whether he'll start or how many carries he will receive, however, so don't elevate him to better than flex status.
11:54 a.m. ET -- Bernard Berrian active -- The Vikings' official Web site reports that Bernard Berrian (questionable, hamstring) is active. He's a worthwhile No. 3 fantasy wide receiver accounting for the matchup.
11:52 a.m. ET -- Matt Schaub active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that Matt Schaub (probable, ankle) is active and will start. The Jets' defense is dealing with some injuries, so don't be afraid to activate Schaub this week.
11:51 a.m. ET -- Kevin Walter inactive -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that Kevin Walter (questionable, hamstring) is inactive. Expect Andre' Davis to get the start, but he's not an attractive fantasy play versus the Jets.
11:50 a.m. ET -- Stewart, Beason active -- ESPN's John Clayton confirms that both Jon Beason (probable, knee) and Jonathan Stewart (probable, Achilles) are active.
11:49 a.m. ET -- Kevin Curtis active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that Kevin Curtis (probable, knee) is active. He was a cut candidate late in the preseason, though, and shouldn't see enough targets to be fantasy-worthy.
11:49 a.m. ET -- Brian Westbrook active -- ESPN's John Clayton confirms that Brian Westbrook (probable, knee) is active.
11:47 a.m. ET -- Shayne Graham active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that Shayne Graham (probable, groin) is active and will start as the Bengals' kicker.
11:47 a.m. ET -- Chris Henry active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that Chris Henry (probable, thigh) is active. He's the Bengals' No. 3 wide receiver, which means limited targets most weeks, but the matchup does make him a bit of a sleeper in deep leagues.
11:46 a.m. ET -- Carson Palmer active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that Carson Palmer (probable, ankle) is active. He'll start and warrants a look in fantasy facing the Broncos.
11:42 a.m. ET -- Jeremy Shockey active -- The Saints' official Web site reports that Jeremy Shockey (probable, ankle) is active. With Billy Miller out for the season, Shockey is a fine fantasy option for this week.
11:41 a.m. ET -- Reggie Bush active -- The Saints' official Web site reports that Reggie Bush (probable, calf) is active. He'll probably start and get a healthy number of touches facing the sorry Lions defense; he's a must-start.
11:30 a.m. ET -- Matt Cassel inactive -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that Matt Cassel (questionable, knee) is inactive. Expect Brodie Croyle to start. Croyle doesn't warrant fantasy attention, and his presence as well as the matchup makes Dwayne Bowe a less attractive play.
11:26 a.m. ET -- Kyle Orton will start -- ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Kyle Orton (questionable, finger) will play and start. Consider Orton more of a No. 2 option in two-quarterback leagues accounting for his limitations in practice this week.
11:23 a.m. ET -- Brian Westbrook will play -- ESPN's Sal Paolantonio reports that Brian Westbrook (probable, knee) will play. Expect Westbrook to get a healthy number of touches in Week 1.
11:22 a.m. ET -- Jon Beason will play -- ESPN's Sal Paolantonio reports that LB Jon Beason (probable, knee) will play.
11:22 a.m. ET -- Jonathan Stewart will play -- ESPN's Sal Paolantonio reports that Jonathan Stewart (probable, Achilles) will play. DeAngelo Williams remains the Panthers' starting running back and should get the bulk of the carries, though.
10:16 a.m. ET -- James Davis questionable -- James Davis (questionable, head) was added to the Browns' injury report as questionable after being involved in a one-car collision Saturday morning. Check back for his official Week 1 status shortly.
10:13 a.m. ET -- Pierre Thomas out -- Pierre Thomas (out, knee) will be inactive for the Saints. Reggie Bush is expected to start, but expect Mike Bell to get a healthy share of carries.
