With almost all football across the globe still postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic, star players have found themselves at a loose end.

While many have now returned to the training ground and others are preparing to do so soon, they still have plenty of time on their hands.

ESPN will be keeping a daily eye on what the world's best are up to, as well as how clubs are keeping busy by battling in online competitions against each other.

Sergio Aguero

Aguero has become something of a FIFA 20 master during lockdown after spending a large percentage of his days playing the game.

Indeed, the Manchester City striker appeared to have perfected his defensive tactics in time to play Juan Sebastian Veron in an online "best of three" between the Argentine stars.

Aguero went 1-0 up and proceeded to blockade his goal, filling the 6-yard box with all 10 outfield players while his goalkeeper went rogue to charge down the ball.

While Veron was obviously frustrated by Aguero's ultra-defensive low block, the City star found it all most amusing.

At least the former could relax safe in the knowledge he looked absolutely fabulous in his fur waistcoat and sunglasses.

For the record, the first game ended 1-1 before Aguero won the next two fixtures 2-0 and 1-0, respectively, thus securing the bragging rights in style.

Francesco Totti

Totti has finally been able to enjoy walking around the streets of Rome in peace, and all it took was a global pandemic.

The AS Roma legend is usually mobbed by adoring fans whenever he ventures out into the city, so the 43-year-old took advantage of his identity being hidden behind a protective face mask to do a little sightseeing.

Along with his wife, Ilary, Totti meandered around the Italian capital and took several photos of his favourite monuments, including the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon.

"Said and done," Totti wrote on Instagram, having previously grumbled that he has been unable to walk down Via del Corso (a main street running through Rome) unhindered for many years.

Carlos Vela

Vela donned his finest LeBron James jersey and ventured into the backyard to audition for a new career in the NBA.

Cristiano Ronaldo

Wearing what appears to be a silk kimono, Ronaldo spent a little time playing with partner Georgina Rodriguez and the kids.

Mohamed Salah

Liverpool forward Salah enjoyed the sunshine by taking his bike out for a spin.

Dani Alves

Alves kept himself amused by staging a full fashion shoot with his wife, Spanish supermodel Joana Sanz, by the pool at home.

Thibaut Courtois

Real Madrid goalkeeper Courtois showed that his reflexes haven't diminished during quarantine by hitting the training drills hard.

Keylor Navas

Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Navas has been keeping himself trim.

But not by playing football. He has been performing elaborate dance routines with his partner!
