PSG to keep on spending with £80m offer for Alexis Sanchez

The football world is awash with gossip. Transfer Talk is monitoring the whispers ahead of all the summer moves. Check out the latest deals and potential deals here.

TOP STORY: PSG to step up Sanchez pursuit

Arsene Wenger has reiterated the line that Alexis Sanchez is not for sale throughout the summer, but the Independent reports that Paris Saint-Germain will make a staggering move in excess of £80 million, just weeks after smashing the world record in a £200 million move for Neymar.

The Ligue 1 giants remain in the market for a striker and are continuing to monitor Kylian Mbappe, but Sanchez remains a top target.

The Chilean is believed to be prepared to stay after the Gunners' determination to keep him, despite just one year remaining on his deal.

After recently knocking back a new deal worth £250,000 per week to extend his stay at the Emirates, PSG would offer £400,000 per week in a bid to persuade Sanchez to opt for them over Manchester City. But Sanchez's desire to work with Pep Guardiola is such that City are believed to be able to agree to terms short of the Gunners' new contract offer.

Conte to make controversial move for Rose

Antonio Conte is looking to make a controversial move for Tottenham left-back Danny Rose, the Sun reports, with Chelsea likely to make a bid of £40 million after failing in their attempt to sign Juventus star Alex Sandro.

The Old Lady reportedly knocked back a £60 million offer for their Brazilian, which could have exceeded the £50 million spent by Manchester City on Benjamin Mendy and Kyle Walker.

Spurs will be resistant to losing both their star full-backs in one window, particularly one to their bitter rivals off the back of losing to the Blues in the title race.

Chelsea want to sway the England international by offering to double his £65,000 per week wages, reigniting their interest two years since they first started tracking the Leeds United product.

Saints to stay strong over Van Dijk

Southampton are prepared to let Virgil van Dijk spend a season in the reserves rather than allow him to join Liverpool, according to the Express.

The Dutch defender has pleaded with Saints to consider offers for him, with the Reds previously making contact before a public dispute ended a potential deal.

While the former Celtic star would seemingly still be keen on moving to Anfield, Saints have seemingly ruled out such a move, hoping for Chelsea to register an interest.

The report includes a source at Southampton, who claims the club would "happily let him sit in the stands all season [rather than sell to Liverpool]," which would prove to be an incredibly bold move.

Chelsea make £25 million swoop for Oxlade-Chamberlain

Chelsea have tabled a £25 million offer for Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, with the Mail claiming that the Blues are stepping up their efforts to sign the England international with just weeks remaining of the transfer window.

The Gunners' star has just one year left on his contract, but the club will be resistant to selling to their rivals and could risk losing the player for free as a result.

Conte believes that Oxlade-Chamberlain can blossom into an exceptional wing-back in his 3-4-3 system, while Arsene Wenger has been utilising him in that role since replicating the system toward the end of the past season.

Tap-ins

-- The Foxes are likely to fail in their quest to sign Jonny Evans, as the Northern Ireland international is happy at West Brom.

-- Juventus have made Emre Can their prime midfield target, reports Corriere dello Sport, with the Liverpool star preferred to Blaise Matuidi and Steven N'Zonzi.

The Old Lady have offered €25 million, but the Reds want €30 million for the 23-year-old, who has just one year remaining on his contract.
