Arsenal eye Boca Juniors teenager Rodrigo Bentancur - sources

Arsenal are tracking Boca Juniors teenager Rodrigo Bentancur, sources in South America have told ESPN FC.

Bentancur is regarded as one of the brightest young talents in South America after bursting onto the scene at Boca last season.

The 18-year-old, who came through the ranks at the Buenos Aires club, is tipped to become one of the best midfielders in the world, with European clubs including Real Madrid and Juventus reported to be interested.

Now Arsenal have joined the chase for Bentancur, with sources close to Boca telling ESPN FC that the Londoners have had him watched.

Arsenal scouts attended Thursday's 3-1 win over Bolivar and are expected to cast another eye over Bentancur in Monday's clash with Tigre.

Boca are reluctant to lose the holding midfielder, but are braced for offers during the summer.

In January, Bentancur's father said he was happy at Boca and appreciated the chance he had been given to establish himself at the club.
