The Vancouver Whitecaps traded Nigel Reo-Coker to Chivas USA for fellow midfielder Mauro Rosales on Thursday.
Former West Ham, Aston Villa and Bolton midfielder Reo-Coker, in his second year with Vancouver, had a goal and two assists in 12 games this season. After beginning the season as a starter, the 30-year-old played sparingly after he was sidelined with a concussion suffered when he reportedly walked into a bicycle rack.

Rosales has started 16 of his 21 games for Chivas this season and is third in the league with eight assists. The 33-year-old Argentine had 12 goals and 34 assists in three seasons with Seattle before joining Chivas this year. His 42 assists since joining MLS in 2011 are the second-most in the league during that stretch.
Rosales will join the Whitecaps on Friday in Carson, California, as they prepare to play the Los Angeles Galaxy on Saturday.
