Borussia Dortmund's Erik Durm will be out for six weeks after undergoing surgery on a knee injury.
The Bundesliga side have confirmed that the defender, who has yet to feature for the club this season, went under the knife on Wednesday.
The 23-year-old, capped seven times by Germany, also missed out on the national team's Euro 2016 qualifying wins over Poland and Scotland.
A statement on his club's website read: "Borussia Dortmund left-back Erik Durm was today operated on. Dr. Jurgen Eichhorn removed inflamed tissue from the knee of Durm during surgery."
