Markus Feulner injured for Augsburg's Europa League trip to Liverpool

Augsburg midfielder Markus Feulner is to miss his club's Europa League match at Liverpool.

Feulner, 34, will undergo surgery on a cheekbone fracture ahead of Thursday's game, which sees Augsburg head to Anfield after a 0-0 draw in the first leg.

A club statement read: "Alongside long-term injured players Jan-Ingwer Callsen-Bracker and Daniel Baier, the likes of Jeong-Ho Hong, Piotr Trochowski, Raul Bobadilla and Jan Moravek are currently sidelined.

"Following the 1-0 win against Hannover this weekend, one more player has joined that list.

"Midfielder Markus Feulner broke his cheekbone in a coming together. The 34-year-old will undergo surgery on Wednesday, ruling him out of Markus Weinzierl's team for the next few weeks."

Feulner, who has played in 21 competitive matches for Augsburg this season, added: "It's annoying that I will miss out on the Liverpool game and the league in the near future."

Augsburg are also hoping that Raul Bobadilla is available after he suffered a muscle tear in the first leg a week ago.
