French midfielder Vincent Nogueira has left the Philadelphia Union because of health issues.
The Union and Nogueira agreed to mutually terminate his contract, the MLS club announced on Thursday.
"We want to thank Vincent for his contributions to the club over the last two years and we wish him the best, both personally and professionally," Union sporting director Earnie Stewart said in a statement.
"At this time, it was our desire to enable him to be with his family at home in France."
Nogueira, 28, scored nine goals in 64 games with Philadelphia since coming to MLS from Sochaux before the 2014 season.
"I want to thank Philadelphia Union for their understanding of my situation and wish my teammates well going forward," Nogueira said.
