Calum Chambers is no Cristiano Ronaldo. Even the Arsenal defender himself admitted as much by making fun of his failed overhead kick attempt against Southampton on Sunday.
Chambers seemed to be inspired by Ronaldo's stunning goal against Juventus in the Champions League when he tried to meet a cross from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with a similarly acrobatic attempt.
But while Ronaldo's overhead kick produced an instant classic, Chambers only managed to produce an instant meme. While he connected with the ball, his shot bounced tamely toward goal where it was easily collected by goalkeeper Alex McCarthy.

That, of course, led to obvious comparisons to Ronaldo on social media, and Chambers himself was quick to play along on Twitter after the game.
We give him higher marks for the self-deprecating Twitter game than for the overly ambitious overhead effort.
