Manchester United defender Cameron Borthwick-Jackson rejected interest from Ajax before agreeing a loan move to Leeds United, sources have told ESPN FC.
The left-back is expected to be confirmed as a Leeds player next week after agreeing a deal until the end of the season and could make his debut against Port Vale at Elland Road in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.
Ajax were keen to sign Borthwick-Jackson this summer and held initial discussions with his representatives.
However, after an unsuccessful move to Wolves last season, the 20-year-old decided his interests would be better served playing regular football in the Championship.
Borthwick-Jackson signed a season-long loan deal with Wolves last summer but he only managed six league appearances and was playing regularly for United's under-23s by the end of the campaign.
He was left out of United's summer tour of the United States by manager Jose Mourinho, instead travelling to Austria with the academy.
The England U20 international broke into the first team under Louis van Gaal making 14 appearances during the 2015-16 season before signing a long-term contract in 2016 that will keep him at the club until at least 2020.
Borthwick-Jackson will become the fifth United youngster to leave on loan this summer.
