Jose Antonio Reyes announces deal to play in Chinese Super League

Jose Antonio Reyes has confirmed he is to move to an unnamed Chinese Super League club on a two-year contract.

Reyes, 34, scored three goals and set up four more in 21 league appearances for Espanyol last season but left the club when his contract expired in the summer.

"It's almost done and I will go to play in China," Reyes told Gol TV. "There are still some minor details to resolve but the next two years I will play there."

El Mundo Deportivo reports that the former Spain international will play alongside Carlos Tevez at Shanghai Shenhua, where former Betis coach Gus Poyet is in charge.

Reyes has more than 300 Liga appearances under his belt after playing for Sevilla, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Espanyol.

The move to Asia represents Reyes' third stint abroad, having also played for Arsenal and Benfica. He won the Premier League, the FA Cup and the FA Community Shield in his two years with the Gunners and went on to win the Liga crown while on loan at Real Madrid in the 2006-07 campaign.

Reyes is the only player to have won five UEFA Cup/Europa League titles, two with Atletico and three in his second spell at Sevilla
