PSG's Al-Khelaifi 'calm' ahead of meeting with Swiss prosecutor

Paris Saint-Germain chairman and CEO Nasser Al-Khelaifi declared himself "calm" ahead of his upcoming meeting with the Swiss prosecutor after a criminal case for suspected bribery was launched against him last week.

The Qatari supremo watched his team beat Anderlecht 4-0 at Constant Vanden Stock in UEFA Champions League Group B play on Wednesday, thanks to goals from Kylian Mbappe, Edinson Cavani, Neymar and Angel Di Maria.

Al-Khelaifi told Canal+ after the match that he is not worried by next week's appointment.

"I have a meeting on the 25th," the 43-year-old confirmed as he spoke for the first time since the investigation was announced. "I will go there to speak with the Swiss prosecutor. That is all. I came here for the match and everything continues as normal.

"Am I calm? Of course. We won 4-0. I am very happy. It was an important match for us. We are continuing our great work with our top players. I am very happy with the result."

PSG coach Unai Emery was happy with the result in Brussels but admitted that Les Parisiens' second half was better than their first.

"It was important to score quickly," the Spaniard said after the final whistle. "Anderlecht are a good team and they created chances in the first half. At half time, we agreed that we needed to control the match better -- we managed to do this in the second half. We created more chances than them.

"Now we can focus on Le Classique this Sunday. We know the supporters are impatient for this game. We will do everything we can to prepare well and to bring home all three points for the fans."

Goalkeeper Alphonse Areola made a number of good saves in the first half to keep Anderlecht at bay and the youth academy graduate revealed his satisfaction at his recent form after a third consecutive Champions League clean sheet.

"I am satisfied with my current form but I cannot stop here," the Frenchman acknowledged. "I must continue to work hard. I give the best of myself every match. I had a lot to do here and it was difficult at times but I stayed calm.

"I am Parisien, I know that the fans cannot wait for Le Classique. We will now prepare for that."

Marco Verratti assisted Mbappe for PSG's opening goal inside of three minutes in Belgium and the Italy international was content with the result, even if he feels the team can still get better.

"We scored very quickly but Anderlecht are a good team and they played with intensity," said the Italy international. "They had chances to score. We took all three points and we are happy with the result, even if we can do better.

"We need to be ambitious and say that we can improve further. We have had a bit of luck but this season has also been based on good collective defence."

Mbappe, who scored the opening goal and assisted Cavani to make it 2-0 before half time agreed with Verratti that there is more still to come from PSG in Europe this season.

"We are enjoying ourselves on the pitch," the France international said. "We want to make a good impression in the Champions League and we are succeeding so far. We won in style and we are taking all three points home.

"I think that we can accelerate even more, which we have already shown at times, but it is also necessary to know how to pace ourselves because there are still matches left to play."

PSG will travel to Stade Velodrome on Sunday to tackle bitter rivals Olympique de Marseille in Le Classique.
