Chelsea's Jake Clarke-Salter set for Nottingham Forest loan move - sources

Chelsea defender Jake Clarke-Salter is being lined up for a loan move to Nottingham Forest, sources close to the Championship club have told ESPN FC.

Clarke-Salter has come through the ranks at Chelsea and is highly regarded at Stamford Bridge.

The 20-year-old made his first-team debut in April 2016 when he came off the bench in a Premier League game at Aston Villa, before spending last season on loan at League One side Bristol Rovers where he made 13 appearances.

Clarke-Salter was a regular at youth level for England and he was a member of the under-20 squad that won the World Cup last summer.

He has made just one first-team appearance this season, against Forest in the EFL Cup in September, and with the defender being well down the pecking order in Antonio Conte's plans they are ready to send him out on loan for the second half of the campaign.

A number of Championship clubs have made enquiries about taking Clarke-Salter on loan, but Forest are hoping to steal a march on their rivals with boss Mark Warburton keen to shore up his defence when the transfer window opens in January.
