Roma have signed Argentine left-back Jonathan Silva on loan from Sporting Lisbon until the end of the season with a view to a permanent deal.
Silva, 23, has been capped twice by his country and joined Sporting in 2014 but has made only 21 league appearances for the Portuguese club.
"I am very happy to have arrived in Rome, for me it is incredible,'' Silva told the club website. "I am very motivated. I want to contribute to this great group of players.''
Roma have an option to make the transfer permanent in the summer.
"He is a young player who has already demonstrated personality and quality, characteristics that allowed him to play in an important club like Sporting,'' said Roma sporting director Monchi.
