Bakambu helps Beijing Guoan salvage draw; Changchun Yatai get first win

Cedric Bakambu helped rescue a point for Beijing Guoan as Roger Schmidt's side fought back from going two goals down to draw 3-3 with Chongqing Lifan on Sunday evening.

Bakambu, signed in the winter transfer window from La Liga side Villarreal, netted five minutes into the second half to pull his side level after a frantic first half had seen Chongqing go into the break with a two-goal lead.

Goals from Fernandinho Silva and Peng Xinli in the opening eight minutes gave the home side the perfect start, only for Renato Augusto to halve the deficit in the 10th minute.

Alan Kardec restored Chongqing's two-goal advantage in the 19th minute as Chongqing were ruthless in front of goal, although Piao Cheng's goal just before the half-hour mark for Beijing capped an eventful opening 30 minutes.

Bakambu then struck five minutes after the restart to seal a point that leaves Guoan in fourth place, five points adrift of Chinese Super League leaders Shanghai SIPG after just six games.

"This was a very intense match," said Schmidt. "Both sides tried their best to win and 3-3 is a fair result.

"Our start was a bit messy and it wasn't easy for us to pull level. We hoped to win all three points but given the outstanding performance of Chongqing, I'm satisfied with a point.

"They scored three times with three shots. Chongqing is a counter-attacking team and it's always a pain when you're losing against this kind of team but today our players were great and they showed a great attitude."

In the day's other game, Changchun Yatai picked up their first win of the season as goals from Sun Jie, Lasse Vibe and Tan Long secured a 3-0 win over Henan Jianye.
