Luxembourg fans jeer Ronaldo with 'Messi' chants
Cristiano Ronaldo entered Sunday's European qualifier with Luxembourg needing two international goals to reach 100 with Portugal. While the prolific forward ultimately failed to hit his international century mark it was certainly an eventful evening for our man Ronny.
The 34-year-old's pursuit of 100 goals was met with constant banter from Luxembourg supporters, who audibly chanted "Messi, Messi, Messi" every time No. 7 was on the ball in a dangerous area or misfired a shot. Needless to say, we think we know where the Luxembourg fans stand in the great Ronaldo vs. Messi debate.

The chanting just added further fire to a frustrating night for Ronaldo, who was as visibly exasperated as ever and surely would have liked his chances to reach 100 goals entering Portugal's match against the 96th ranked team in the world.
Despite trailing on 1-0 on the scoreboard for most of the evening, the Luxembourg fans remained upbeat and seized every opportunity to take digs at and have some fun at the expense of the Portuguese star. The Anti-Ronaldo trolling party continued into the later stages on Sunday before Ronaldo spoiled the celebration and grabbed the last laugh, at the expense of teammate Diogo Jota.
In the 86th minute, the ever-opportunistic Ronaldo was there to poke Jota's goal-bound shot over the line to grab goal No. 99 and silence the opposing crowd. While it was tough to tell if Ronaldo's touch came before or after Jota's shot crossed the goalline, Ronaldo predictably claimed it, stealing what would have been Jota's first-ever international goal!

The international break is anything but a break for most of world's football's biggest stars. Paul Pogba on the other hand, out with an ankle injury since October, made the most of the time off by taking a trip to Miami.
Pogba, 26, did manage to take in some sport during his trip, as he watched courtside as the NBA's Miami Heat took on the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday night. Pogba, a big basketball fan, was there to watch friend -- and PSG supporter -- Jimmy Butler play and was even gifted a custom Miami Heat jersey by the team.
Pogba, who's brother Florentin plays in the United States for Atlanta United, is expected to return to action for Man United soon.
