A middleweight bout between Rashad Evans and Tim Kennedy has been scrapped from UFC 206 on Dec. 10 in Toronto, after Evans failed to receive medical clearance from the Ontario Athletic Commission.
Evans' manager, Ali Abdelaziz confirmed the news to ESPN.com on Monday.
It is the second time this month Evans, 37, has been denied a license to fight. He was supposed to fight Kennedy at UFC 205 in New York on Nov. 12, but the bout was canceled because of the same issue.
"Rashad is fine, he is good," Abdelaziz said. "The Ontario commission is a difficult commission to work with. The UFC has been great and is taking the necessary steps to get Rashad cleared. He will fight in January or February."
Kennedy (18-5) broke news of the fight cancellation on "The MMA Hour." He said the UFC is currently seeking a replacement for Evans.
A former light heavyweight champion, Evans (19-5-1) hasn't fought since a first-round knockout loss to Glover Teixeira in April. It was the second knockout loss of his career. This fight against Kennedy was supposed to be his middleweight debut.
