Josh Koscheck to face Mauricio Alonso in Bellator debut Feb. 18

Former UFC welterweight title challenger Josh Koscheck will make his Bellator MMA debut on Feb. 18 in San Jose, California.

Koscheck (17-10) will face Mauricio Alonso at Bellator 172 inside SAP Center. It will mark Koscheck's first appearance since March 2015.

Koscheck, 39, signed with Bellator shortly after his last fight in the UFC. He was scheduled to fight Paul Daley last July, but was forced to pull out of the contest due to injury.

Koscheck's Bellator debut has actually been delayed twice. In addition to the Daley fight, Koscheck was also forced to pull out of a contest against Matt Secor in January 2016.

Koscheck has lost his last five fights. He has been finished four times during that skid. His last win was a split-decision victory over Mike Pierce at UFC 143 in early 2012.

Alonso (12-7), out of Curitiba, Brazil, is riding a two-fight win streak.

A non-title heavyweight matchup between Fedor Emelianenko (36-4) and Matt Mitrione (11-5) is scheduled to headline the televised Bellator event.
