Amanda Nunes, Valentina Shevchenko agree to July fight

Amanda Nunes and Valentina Shevchenko have agreed to terms on a UFC female bantamweight title fight, multiple sources told ESPN.

The UFC has not announced the 135-pound fight, but a deal is close to being finalized for UFC 213 on July 8 in Las Vegas. The matchup was first reported on social media by Talk MMA.

Nunes (14-4) is coming off a lopsided title defense against Ronda Rousey at UFC 207 late last year. The Brazilian champion overwhelmed Rousey with strikes in just 48 seconds.

Fighting out of Coconut Creek, Florida, Nunes will be seeking her second title defense.

Shevchenko (14-2) is coming off wins over Julianna Pena and Holly Holm. She is 3-1 overall in the UFC, with her only loss coming to Nunes in March 2016.

The two fought at UFC 196 last year. Nunes ran off to an early lead in the fight, but Shevchenko appeared to be making a comeback in the final round.

The UFC has not yet announced a main event for UFC 213, set to take place at T-Mobile Arena.
