The UFC has finalized a welterweight matchup between Sage Northcutt and Zak Ottow for a UFC Fight Night event on July 14 in Boise, Idaho.
Ottow (16-5) discussed the 170-pound matchup on his social media feed as far back as May, but UFC officials only made the bout official this week.
Northcutt (10-2) will be moving back up to welterweight, after his last two fights took place in the 155-pound lightweight division. The 22-year-old is a perfect 5-0 as a lightweight, but 0-2 as a welterweight.
Fighting out of Katy, Texas, Northcutt has not fought at welterweight since a submission loss to Mickey Gall in December 2016.
Ottow, of Milwaukee, is 3-2 in the UFC. He is coming off a first-round TKO against Mike Pyle at UFC 222 in March.
"I'm pumped for this matchup, I didn't think this was even on the radar for me," Ottow told TheBodyLockMMA.com. "I promise you I'm the strongest person he's ever felt in a real fight, times 10."
The UFC Fight Night event will take place inside CenturyLink Arena. A heavyweight bout between former champion Junior dos Santos (18-5) and Blagoy Ivanov (16-1) is scheduled to headline.
