Lewis was riding a three-fight win streak going into his loss to Daniel Cormier. Dos Santos, who won the title in 2011 with a first-round knockout of Cain Velasquez and successfully defended the belt one time, has won two in a row.
Also on the card is another heavyweight clash, in which Ben Rothwell returns from a three-year absence prompted by an injury and drug-test failure. He takes on Blagoy Ivanov.
