Greg Hardy's next UFC bout will take place on Oct. 18 in Boston instead of Oct. 26 in Singapore as originally planned.
Hardy (5-1) has agreed to meet promotional newcomer Ben Sosoli (7-2) at UFC Fight Night on Oct. 18, according to sources. The heavyweight prospect was supposed to face Jarjis Danho (5-1-1) the following week in Singapore, but Danho was forced to withdraw due to injury and the UFC opted to move Hardy to another card.
The UFC Fight Night event, which will take place at TD Garden, airs on ESPN. The UFC has not yet announced the switch for Hardy or exactly where he will appear on the card's lineup.
An ex-NFL defensive lineman now training out of American Top Team in Coconut Creek, Florida, Hardy is coming off a 45-second knockout of Juan Adams in July. This will mark his fourth UFC appearance, all of which have come in 2019. His only loss came via disqualification, when he landed an illegal strike against Allen Crowder in January.
Hardy's emergence as a mixed martial arts prospect and UFC fighter has been well documented this year, as he has stepped back into the spotlight for the first time since he was exiled from the NFL. Hardy was convicted of domestic violence in 2014 before charges were later dismissed.
Sosoli (6-2), of Melbourne, Australia, is a 29-year-old veteran who appeared on Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series in August. His fight ended in a no-contest due to an accidental eye poke. He has been fighting professionally since 2013.
