PFL announces playoff schedule leading with Ray Cooper III vs. Rory MacDonald on Aug. 13

The PFL has announced its official playoff schedule, which consists of three events in August.

The events will take place on Aug. 13, 19 and 27. All of the cards will be held at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, and will air on ESPN platforms.

The first event features welterweight and lightweight matchups, highlighted by a matchup between the No. 2- and No. 3-seeded welterweights: Ray Cooper III (22-7-1) and Rory MacDonald (22-7-1).

The Aug. 19 card will be headlined by former lightweight tournament winner and two-time Olympic gold medalist in judo Kayla Harrison. Harrison (10-0) will face Genah Fabian (4-1).

The final event of the playoffs will consist of featherweight and light heavyweight matchups. That card will be headlined by Brendan Loughnane (21-3) vs. Movlid Khaybulaev (17-0-1).

The PFL is in its third official season, after postponing the 2020 season due to the coronavirus. It is the only major MMA promotion to consist of a "season and playoffs" format.
