Denver Broncos TE Noah Fant exits vs. New York Jets with ankle injury

Tight end Noah Fant joined the parade of Denver Broncos starters to suffer injuries this season, leaving Thursday's game against the New York Jets with an ankle injury in the third quarter. He was ruled out for the remainder of the game.

A source told ESPN's Adam Schefter after the Broncos' 37-28 win that the injury is "minor."

Fant entered the night as the Broncos' leader in receptions (14), yards receiving (184) and touchdowns (two). Fant was injured on his fifth catch of the night and limped off the field after his 9-yard reception with 6 minutes, 6 seconds to play in the quarter.

Fant was later taken to the locker room on a cart. He is expected to undergo an MRI on Friday.

The Broncos were already without quarterback Drew Lock (shoulder), running back Phillip Lindsay (toe), wide receiver Courtland Sutton (knee) and right tackle Elijah Wilkinson (lower leg). Sutton and Wilkinson will miss the remainder of the season and are on injured reserve.

Rookie wide receiver KJ Hamler also left Thursday night's game, with a hamstring injury.
