Vikings lose left tackle Christian Darrisaw to knee injury

INGLEWOOD, Calif. -- Minnesota Vikings left tackle Christian Darrisaw was ruled out of Thursday night's 30-20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams because of a knee injury he suffered near the end of the first half.

Darrisaw, who has been having a Pro Bowl-caliber season, was blocking with 35 seconds remaining in the half as the Vikings were trying to run the clock out. Rams safety Jaylen McCollough fell into Darrisaw's left knee, and it twisted awkwardly as Darrisaw fell.

Veteran backup David Quessenberry replaced Darrisaw to start the second half.

The Vikings signed Darrisaw, 25, to a five-year, $140 million contract extension this summer. He was the No. 23 pick of the 2021 draft.
