Coyotes' Brad Richardson has surgery for multiple leg fractures

Arizona Coyotes forward Brad Richardson had surgery Friday after suffering a fractured tibia and fibula in his right leg and will be out indefinitely.

Richardson, 31, was injured in the second period of Arizona's overtime loss to Vancouver on Thursday night after a seemingly clean hit from Canucks defenseman Nikita Tryamkin and was carted off the ice on a stretcher.

"Brad's surgery went very well today and we are confident that he will make a full recovery. He will be out of the lineup indefinitely," general manager John Chayka said in a statement Friday.

In 16 games with the Coyotes this season, Richardson has five goals and four assists. He was signed as a free agent in 2015.
