The San Jose Sharks acquired forward Klim Kostin from the Detroit Red Wings on Friday in exchange for defenseman Radim Simek and a seventh-round pick in the 2024 NHL draft.
Kostin, 24, has recorded four points (3 goals, 1 assist) in 33 games this season. The former first-round pick has one season remaining on his two-year, $4 million contract.
He has totaled 36 points (19 goals, 17 assists) in 136 career games with the St. Louis Blues, Edmonton Oilers and Red Wings. He was selected by the Blues with the 31st overall pick in the 2017 NHL draft.
Simek, 31, has collected 29 points (7 goals, 22 assists) in 209 career games with the Sharks but has not played for the team this season. He is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent in the summer.
