Tuesday saw the men's hockey team and Lovlina Borgohain edge closer to a quarterfinals spot at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, while the shooters disappointed and failed to qualify for the final. Veteran TT player Sharath Kamal and the young badminton pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty also saw their progress halted, but they went down fighting.
