High school senior Jaylen Fisher, who is ranked No. 34 in the ESPN 100, announced his commitment to TCU on Wednesday.
Fisher, a 6-foot-2 point guard, recently decommitted from UNLV after the coaching changes there. New TCU assistant Ryan Miller recruited Fisher while at UNLV and was the point man on Fisher's TCU recruitment as well.
Fisher visited TCU last weekend, and chose the Horned Frogs over a long list of schools. Ohio State, Seton Hall, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Baylor, UConn and several other schools reached out since Fisher reopened his recruitment.
"I chose TCU for four main reasons," Fisher said. "First, because of the close relationship my family and I have built over the last year and a half with coach Ryan Miller. Two, the résumé of coach Jamie Dixon and his proven track record for developing talent and winning. Three, the emphasis the university has placed on making basketball a priority. And lastly, the opportunity to have the ball in my hands from Day 1 in the Big 12."
Fisher, one of the better point guards in the 2016 class, should make an immediate impact at TCU. One of the questions surrounding Dixon's decision to move from Pittsburgh to TCU was whether he could recruit at a high level in the Big 12, but he's built a formidable staff with Miller, former LSU assistant David Patrick and former Louisiana Tech assistant Corey Barker.
