TWICKENHAM, London -- England train for moments such as Sam Underhill's try-saving tackle on Wales centre Scott Williams, according to England defence coach Paul Gustard.

Underhill and his England teammates were back at Twickenham -- the scene of the 12-6 Six Nations win over Wales -- on Friday as they took part in an open training session, witnessed by around 10,000 fans.

Prince Harry was one of those in the stadium's West Stand, but while Anthony Watson was fit enough to take part following a lower-leg injury, there was no sign of either Owen Farrell or Joe Launchbury.

"Sam was on the floor, he slipped and his fight to get back is great but we train for those moments," Gustard said. "We train hard, we train tough and there were plenty of efforts in the game. That one just looked nice because it was close to the corner flag and it was a pivotal moment in the game at 12-6.

"For us it was little moments in the game where boys went over and above, some of our kick-chase was outstanding, some double efforts, huge tackle counts from people like Mako Vunipola. So we are really pleased."

England made 165 tackles as they kept Wales try-less at Twickenham, and maintained their quest for a second Grand Slam in three attempts under Eddie Jones.

"At times we had to fight and show resilience. Wales found a bit of space in the backfield to put kicks into and that's something for our backfield cover to look at," Gustard said.

"The general feeling was that there was a good energy about us. Defence isn't always perfect but that kind of feeling the players had... we felt on it all week.

"Our training performance on the Monday and Tuesday leading into the game were exceptional and that translated into Saturday.

"The effort was outstanding and obviously the result was brilliant."
