Brothers Andy and Jamie Murray will play against each other for the first time in a Tour-level match when they meet in men's doubles at the Rogers Cup.
Andy and 42-year-old Indian playing partner Leander Paes, a 16-time doubles grand slam champion, beat Jeremy Chardy and Kevin Anderson 6-3 6-1 to set up a second-round tie with Jamie and John Peers in Montreal.
"I've never played my brother since we became professionals," Andy said. "We obviously played a lot against each other as juniors in local competitions and around Great Britain.
"It'll be nice in some ways, but also it's not easy.
"Serena and Venus [Williams] have obviously done that playing for grand slams. I can't imagine how difficult that is.
"Playing in the second round of the doubles is a little bit more relaxed than those occasions, but it still won't be easy."
Jamie and Australian partner Peers, the seventh seeds in Canada, are in tremendous form, having followed up a Wimbledon runner-up finish at Wimbledon by winning the German Open.
In the singles, British No.1 Andy, the second seed, was handed a first-round bye and will face Tommy Robredo in Tuesday's second round.
