Sparks' Parker doesn't return after hurting ankle

Los Angeles Sparks post player Candace Parker injured her right ankle in the first quarter of the team's 74-62 loss at Dallas on Tuesday and didn't return to the game.

A Sparks spokesperson said Parker would be evaluated further in the coming days.

The Sparks next play Friday at Indiana. Los Angeles had won three games in a row before falling to the Wings and is currently 7-7.

Parker, a two-time WNBA MVP who turned 33 in April, missed the first seven games of this WNBA season with a hamstring injury. She returned to action June 18 against Washington. Her best game so far this season was June 27, when she had 18 points and nine rebounds in an 86-74 victory over Las Vegas.
