ETSU extends Brittney Ezell

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. -- East Tennessee State has extended coach Brittney Ezell's contract through the 2018-19 season.

In a university release Friday announcing the extension, ETSU athletic director Richard Sander said that "Coach Ezell's leadership and the accomplishments of her team this past year were extraordinary."

Ezell has gone 30-33 in two seasons at ETSU. The Buccaneers went 21-12, finished second in the Southern Conference and lost 61-56 to Chattanooga in overtime in the conference tournament final this season. ETSU fell 73-58 to NC State in the first round of the WNIT.

ETSU's 12-game improvement in its win total from 2013-14 to 2014-15 was the best in program history and the second-best among all Division I teams.
