Rain or Shine is looking to beef up its frontcourt with the potential addition of Bradwyn Guinto after dealing young guard Clint Doliguez and backup big man Sidney Onwubere to NorthPort on Monday.
Elasto Painters coach Caloy Garcia confirmed the trade proposal to ESPN5 on Monday but declined to comment pending approval by the Office of the Commissioner.
Guinto, an incoming six-year PBA veteran, was hampered by an injury in the PBA bubble in Clark, Angeles City, Pampanga last season and played behind Fil-German big man Christian Standhardinger and Kelly Nabong .
The 29-year-old, the 14th overall pick in the 2015 PBA Draft, averaged just 2.2 points and 1.78 rebounds in over 10 minutes of play in the PBA bubble won by Barangay Ginebra.
But should the trade get the green light from PBA, the former San Sebastian slotman has a huge opportunity to thrive under Garcia's system as well as play alongside big men Beau Belga and Jewel Ponferada.
Meanwhile, Doliguez, the sixth pick in the 2019 PBA Rookie Draft, hopes to fit in quickly to a NorthPort side that is loaded with guards and small forwards.
The former San Beda standout averaged an efficient 4.17 points and 1.17 rebounds despite playing just under seven minutes of play in the PBA 2020 PBA bubble.
Onwubere, a known rebounding demon out of Emilio Aguinalo College, normed 5.73 points and 3.55 rebounds in close to 16 minutes of action for the Elasto Painters after finally getting playing time in the bubble.
