Free agent forward Glenn Khobuntin will sign a one-year deal with the TNT Tropang Giga, team manager Gabby Cui confirmed to ESPN5.com on Monday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Khobuntin had been a key role player for Terrafirma Dyip since he first joined the team in 2017. He averaged 7.8 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 0.7 assists inside the PBA bubble at Clark, Pampanga last season, playing in 10 out of 11 possible elimination games.
"Glenn Khobuntin is a great two-way player. He can play tough defense and generate good offense. We would like to welcome Glenn to TNT Tropang GIGA," said Cui.
The former NU product assumes the roster spot left open after the retirement of team lifer Harvey Carey last week.
Khobuntin was named an All-Star in 2017, representing the Mindanao selection while he was still with the NLEX Road Warriors.
He was drafted 10th overall by NLEX in the 2015 PBA Rookie Draft, a year after he was part of the NU Bulldogs' Cinderella run to the UAAP Season 77 men's basketball championship. The move reunites him with a former teammate on that champion team in forward Troy Rosario.
