Last season we began this exercise. Here's how we did last season. Not terrible, but certainly some room for improvement.
We'll move forward again this offseason by making preseason picks for every single game on the Big 12 schedule. By the end of it, you'll see our full projections for each team in the Big 12 in 2013.
More Big 12 predictions for 2013.
TCU 31, West Virginia 24: The Frogs slow down WVU's offense with some timely three-and-outs and a game plan focused on running the ball. It’s a sound strategy for the Frogs, who escaped Morgantown with a crazy win in overtime last season and hold home field this year to keep the Big 12 title within reach.
Kansas State 27, Iowa State 21: Neither of these teams thought they'd go winless in their first three Big 12 games, but it happened. K-State gets its second consecutive win after a brutal start to Big 12 play. John Hubert is to thank for that. Once again, he carries K-State to a win with a big day on the ground.
Texas 41, Kansas 23: Texas might have taken KU a little lightly last season, and almost dropped what would have been a disastrous road loss a year ago. Not the case this year. Longhorn Network and the fans in Austin see a strong performance from the Longhorns, who were treated to plenty of talk about last year's close call in the week before the game.
Texas Tech 37, Oklahoma State 34: Down goes another Big 12 unbeaten. Oklahoma State's run comes to an end with a road loss to a dangerous Texas Tech team in an always treacherous Lubbock venue. Michael Brewer runs up 350 yards and three touchdowns passes, while Kenny Williams rushes for another in this shootout that leaves Baylor as the Big 12's only remaining undefeated team.
