Predicting the 2013 season: Week 11

Last season we began this exercise. Here's how we did last season. Not terrible, but certainly some room for improvement.

We'll move forward again this offseason by making preseason picks for every single game on the Big 12 schedule. By the end of it, you'll see our full projections for each team in the Big 12 in 2013.

More Big 12 predictions for 2013.

Oklahoma 34, Baylor 31: And with one Thursday-night visit from the Sooners, the Big 12's last undefeated team is undefeated no more. Blake Bell's breakout game came on this field two years ago, but Robert Griffin's Heisman-worthy game overshadowed it. Bell finds Jalen Saunders for two second-half scores and the Sooners notch a huge win in Waco.

Iowa State 24, TCU 20: You know Iowa State's going to surprise you at least once a year. They routed TCU in Fort Worth last season just four days after Casey Pachall left the team. The Frogs were at full strength this time around, but the Cyclones wore them down with their depth at running back and neutralized TCU's pass rush. Cue the field storming at Jack Trice Stadium.

Kansas State 31, Texas Tech 27: Kansas State uses a balanced attack buoyed by big plays through the air to get a big win in Lubbock a week after Tech pulled off the upset of league favorite Oklahoma State. You're going to see plenty of ups and downs across the Big 12 this season, and in many ways, this game embodies that unpredictability.

Oklahoma State 51, Kansas 24: On the other end of the predictability spectrum is this game. OSU had a close call against the Jayhawks on a rainy Lawrence afternoon last season. Not so this time around. The offense is in rhythm and the offensive line controls the game for 60 minutes.

Texas 38, West Virginia 30: The Longhorns earn some revenge for last year's heartbreaker in Austin. The Morgantown crowd is ready, but Malcolm Brown and Johnathan Gray are too much for WVU's front seven. Texas keeps the ball out of the Mountaineer offense's hands and goes home with a win. WVU suddenly needs two wins in two games to earn a bowl berth.
