Predicting the 2013 season: Week 13

Last season we began this exercise. Here's how we did last season. Not terrible, but certainly some room for improvement.

We'll move forward again this offseason by making preseason picks for every single game on the Big 12 schedule. By the end of it, you'll see our full projections for each team in the Big 12 in 2013.

More Big 12 predictions for 2013.

Oklahoma 27, Kansas State 21: There might not be another Big 12 game that features more of the quarterback run game. The Sooners win this one with a long touchdown run from Trevor Knight on fourth-and-short in the final minute. Eight of those nine guys in the box bit on the zone read fake to Trey Millard and Knight outran the other to the sideline for the score to send the Sooners back to Norman on a five-game Big 12 winning streak that included road wins at Baylor and now K-State.

Oklahoma State 41, Baylor 34: Baylor finally broke through last season and beat OSU for the first time under Art Briles, but doing so in Stillwater is another deal altogether. Jeremy Smith has his biggest game of the year and the Cowboys defense gets a couple of fourth-quarter stops to push the Pokes to a big win against the one-loss Bears who were getting comfortable in the top 10 of the polls.

Iowa State 24, Kansas 20: Iowa State surely had to hear all week about this being Kansas' best chance to end its Big 12 losing streak, but the Cyclones jumped to an early 14-0 lead on touchdown runs from Jeff Woody and DeVondrick Nealy, and held off a Jayhawks fourth-quarter rally with a defensive stop to seal the win and KU's fate heading into its season finale against Kansas State.
